Caleb English
Hey, I’m Caleb English—a husband, father of two, entrepreneur, and adventurer—preparing to take on the 250KM Marathon Des Sables, an ultra-marathon through the Sahara Desert in southern Morocco. Often called the “toughest footrace on Earth,” this event challenges participants to run the equivalent of six marathons back-to-back, carrying all their supplies across one of the world’s most unforgiving terrains.
This journey is deeply personal to me. I lost my grandmother to cancer just nine months after her diagnosis, and my mother-in-law continues her brave fight with breast cancer after being diagnosed on her 45th birthday in 2019. These experiences have inspired me to raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society through the Go Far Go On campaign, honoring those who face far tougher battles every day.
I began running during the COVID-19 pandemic, inspired by my 65-year-old mom, who regularly competes in races and embodies perseverance. After a break from running, I rediscovered my passion this year and committed to pushing my limits. When I first started training again, I could barely complete three kilometers. But with dedication and countless training sessions, I achieved my first ultra marathon—a 50-kilometer race—just five months later. Now, I’m ready to push even further, channeling that same resilience and determination to make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer.
